「既存のハンドストラップ は、カメラに装着しないで、ただ単一で見た時にはデザインや素材などカッコ良いのですが、いざカメラボディに装着すると、大抵のものは長さが長すぎてボディと手のひらの距離が離れて、結局手首でユルユルになり、フィット感が全く無いし、油断していると手首から抜けてしまうものばかりでした。

カメラボディに装着してはじめてストラップの機能とデザインが完成するものはないかと試行錯誤した時に、単純に輪っかを作れて、アイレットでボディに固定する事でその機能が完成できるデザインとして、とてもシンプルですがこのようなデザインになったのだと思います。

しかしこれは今まであるものを結んだり金属で繋げたりするのでは出来ないものでした。

最初からこの為に穴を開けたり縫い込む前に二重カンをつけたりする必要があるので、一から製作できる職人に依頼する必要がありました。そして出来上がったのがこのハンドストラップ になるのです。

ストラップに開けた2つの穴への通し方で、スムーズに動いたり、ある程度の摩擦抵抗で動き難かったり、しっかり動かずに定位置をキープしたり、またアイレットへの留め方の上下表裏で手首から手の甲へのストラップの回す位置も変えられます。

お使いになる方の使いやすいようにアレンジできるのもシンプルなストラップならではです。」

"Existing hand straps often look stylish in terms of design and material when viewed on their own. However, once attached to a camera, most are far too long. This creates too much distance between the camera body and the palm, leaving the strap loose around the wrist with no sense of fit. I often felt they could slip off the wrist if I wasn't careful.

I began searching for a strap whose function and design only truly become complete once it is mounted on the camera. Through a process of trial and error, I arrived at this very simple design: a strap that forms a clean loop and completes its functional form by being secured to the body via the eyelet.

This concept could not be achieved by simply tying existing components together or using standard metal connectors. It required a craftsman who could build it from scratch—someone who could punch the holes and integrate the split rings specifically for this purpose before the final stitching. This hand strap is the result of that bespoke craftsmanship.

By changing how you thread the strap through its two holes, you can adjust the feel: smooth movement, moderate friction, or a fixed position that stays put. Furthermore, by flipping the strap or changing the attachment direction to the eyelet, you can alter how the strap wraps from the wrist to the back of the hand. This ability for users to customize the fit to their own preference is the hallmark of a truly simple strap."
